Sunday Snippets – OVO {Octobers Very Own} THAT’S ME!

YEAHYA!! It is my birth month! OVO. That is me. What up! AND it is my STAR birthday. —-What you ask is a STAR birthday? Well some call it the “golden” birthday as well but whatever the name, it is when you turn the age of the day you were born on. THUS I am turning 23 on the 23rd!! BAMMM! Hope it is as exciting of a day as I am anticipating šŸ˜‰ {husband please read above} haha

SOOOOO this was actually not a standard week in the life of us. Started out normal. Monday-work & school for us fools. SSOB for Ty and SSOPFCT (secret society of packers for Cali trips) Yeah I made that up so what…Yup we traveled our happy little pants to CaLiFoRnIa. Tuesday at work I even played Ā back to back songs of California tribute songs {California – The OC theme song. California girls- Katy Perry. Californication – Red Hot Chili Peppers. California Love – Tupac. and many more) We boarded our plane around 5:50 MT and the adventure began!

Johnny picked us up at the Long Beach Airport then we went to Fashion Island to eat. We all wanted to try a restaurant that Utah didn’t have. So we went to R + D Kitchen. Excellent food. Way sweet atmosphere. They had a chandelier made of BIC pens. Pretty pinteresty dope. Had a cool Harry Potter looking fountain (Secret Chambers anyone?) Then we headed to our hotel to get some REM’s before our big first day at Disneyland/California Adventure!

We decided the first day was dedicated to California Adventure so we plotted out our day, our fast passes and at 10 o’clock we all ran to our assigned area. Guess it may be kinda weird a bunch of 20 something year olds are running frantically through the park with designated missions assigned to each one, and none of us have kids….eh I don’t care. I had fun. Disneyland brings out the kid in all of us.

SO I am posting on the rides I had never rode before this vacation:

Luigi’s Tire Ride – mediocre, kinda lame to be honest. I like air.

Toy Story Mania – pretty fun especially with my nerd husband and nerd brother in law, Johnny. WHO bothĀ scouredĀ the internet on HOW to get high scores on the ride/game. Gotta love that competitive drive those Disney folk bring out of us on Toy Story rides! {Don’t love peeing, passed out asians inline causing a mess…drink some H2O)

Ariel “ride” – Brought me back to when I wished I was a mermaid.

Radiotor Springs Racer Ride – LOVED it. Worth at least a 70 minute wait in line or a husband sneakily getting fast passes for it. Either one.

There were only like 4 rides in Disneyland I hadn’t rode, which caused the Richards to almost go into straight shock at: Star Tours. Autopia. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blast. The Submarine Nemo one.

Won’t lie, the only one really worth it was Star Tours & Buzz Lightyear. Ā It was mostly fun to watch Ty get so animated about how much he liked those rides.

We ate some GREAT food, thanks to Erica’s research via blogs. Orleans Cafe. Garlic Parmesan fries. I just gained 5 lbs again from thinking about it. I feel like Homer from the Simpsons when he drools over doughnuts. Yeah they were that good.

It was a great two days in Disneyland.

Now I can literally sum of Six Flags in like a paragraph. Start by imagining us five as rag dolls for like 3 hours straight. We had no lines, ride, walk, ride, walk…you get the picture. No wait. Green Lantern was epic. Thought my life was going to fall off that green monster, a few times. But it didn’t. Then we continued. Lex Luther was one for the books. Only Matson & I went on it. Those scared Richard boys didn’t even give it a thought. It was actually really high, much higher than I anticipated but WAY worth it. SeeĀ here.Ā We all were thrown around on repeat AND we paid for it. Brains felt like mush afterĀ Colossal. That didn’t stop us.Ā We all blacked out on Goliath. YUP. Even tried those “breathing exercises” those fighter jet guys use to not black out. Didn’t work. We got a little woozy in the head. Took a little break and started again.Ā Ā X2. Superman. Viper. And we were done by 3:30. Some may say crazy. We say genius.

It was a great trip. This was a long post- sorry I am definitely not sorry. AMAZING way to start off this excellent October šŸ™‚ Worth every $10 S’mores funnel cake and 5 lbs with it.

Sunday Snippets – Last day of September

So I have decided that Sunday is really the best day for me to update this thing.

Got this on lock. Every Sunday is my new goal.

Again it was pretty standard week in our lives. Work for me. School & Work for Ty.

Monday night is SSOB (Secret Society of Basketball I think haha) for Ty. Tuesday I went to Erica’s DD (dirty dancing) Class. Way fun. Good dance routine. I can’t deny the most enjoyable part of going (besides the routine) are Ā the interesting girls that tend to go to that class. I get a good chuckle from watching this “dirty girl” persona they flaunt during the class. Rolling up their shirts, hollering when the moves get dirty and all of it. Like I definitely think they all go home and practice their bump & grind moves in front of the mirror. haha. Just got a visual. See…its funny!

I made a yummy treat on Wednesday ( see hereĀ ) I will say making treats for two people is not the same. Then Ty feels he should eat them all to save me from doing so….or he just really likes them and since I am not home all day he eats them. Either one. I did have my lil sister (the bird-like eater) come over and eat with us, then I got to give her my delicious dessert. I makes me realize that making meals & desserts will be so much more beneficial once I have a few faces to feed. This however doesn’t make me baby hungry (who gets baby hungry by cooking/baking) BUT I did receive a video this week that made me super baby hungry. Only because he is my adorable little nephew who I want to meet & snuggle! ( video hereĀ )

Friday was game day. BYU vs. Hawaii and since husby wanted to watch it, we went to his parents. (We don’t have cable/satellite) Well the game was a boring one, BYU was dominating so we decided to play Golf with Ash & Nolan. Then Jeff & Victoria joined in later. The night ended with us going to visit friends and endless amounts of laughter from Ty & Matt. Either we were just tired or it was that funny. They made up their own version of planko and started playing it with a chair & a bouncy ball. Then Ty got in the “direct line of fire”. Let’s just say it was a moment you had to have been there.

Saturday was Erica’s 22nd Birthday! We went indoor surfing on a flow rider at Provo Beach Resort. Super fun! Dinner at Macaroni Grill. She opened presents. We had carmel apples and went to see Pitch Perfect. No joke. I haven’t laughed that hard in a movie in I don’t know how long. It was hilarious! Loved it. I would recommend it more to girls than guys but my husband and the other guys laughed a lot too. All in all it was a great week! NOW for the moment I have been waiting for…..DISNEYLAND IN 3 DAYS!!! šŸ™‚ I can hardly compose myself. SO excited!! New post about that next week. Until then! TTFN!

Sunday Snippets

This week was a pretty standard week in the life of Nicole & Tyler.

He went to school and did MatchMatch work via his baby (MacBook).

I went to work 9-4:30 at Precision Concrete Cutting, Monday-Friday.

When 5/5:30 rolls around we are both usually at the gym getting some endorphines streaming through our systems. Then back home for dinner and a little together time. This week we had our sights set on watching all *3 seasons of Revenge before the next season airs on Sept. 30. WELL we blazed through season one and got finished on Tuesday or Wednesday I believe. (I was told by a friend that she thought there were 3 seasons so I didn’t question it) Well when we went to watch season 2…I could NOT find it anywhere!? So I used my expert investigating skills (google & wiki) to find out there is only 1 season and the next season airs on the 30th! So now the countdown for the season premiere begins….one week!

I used to think how lame is it to be so into a TV series….its TV. But guess what? Sometimes its just some good R&C (relax & cuddle for future reference) in front of a good show is what I like in my day šŸ™‚

Friday was great! A) We got our iPhone 5’s. SO sweet. I love Siri, she is my bff. And theĀ panoramicĀ pic taking is legit. Ā B) We went for sushi at Happy Sumo. VIP. Half off special sushi rolls. LOVE my life. It was delicious and we went with friends which always makes it a good time. (Matt & Lexi, Jeff & Victoria) Where Happy Sumo is located is at the Riverwoods Mall. The Mall was having a Chalk the Block festival so we walked around the mall after dinner for a bit then back to our place for some friend time šŸ™‚

Saturday woke up at 8. YES 8! No clue why I couldn’t go back to sleep either. Ty woke up then when I mentioned cleaning our house miraculously could fall back to sleep (I did help him stretch, which can relax you to help you sleep easier) SO I began my Saturday morning cleaning sesh. There is no feeling like having a clean house I have decided. It is this sense of accomplishment, feeling productive and liberating, all smashed into one! Then gym time. Dinner & Movie with Luke & Kristina and Matt & Lexi.

All in all it was a great week! I love the people I am blessed with in our lives, family, friends and all the great people in between šŸ™‚ I feel very blessed to be born into the time and country. I am trying to live by these new mottos:

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

“You can sleep when you are dead”

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”

“You can’t fall if you don’t climb. But there’s no joy in living your whole life on the ground.”

Just reminding myself that each day is a blessing and not to get too repetitive & forget that I can live my life and set the path for what I want in life.

Photos toĀ reminisceĀ on taken from about 1 year ago at my Grandparent’s house in Volcano, California.

AND now we have a new addition:

Nicholas Robert Gibson. August 21, 2012. 8 lbs 3 oz. Healthy and handsome. Born to my wonderful brother Scott and his beautiful, strong wife, Lindsey.
